We’ve only gone and done it again! Last week we won ‘Best Places to Work in Hospitality’ for the fifth year in a row! What an amazing achievement!
A few of us went up to London to the awards ceremony after lots of us voted in these annual awards which single out the very best people businesses in our industry. Could we be named a winner once again, for the fifth year running?
Well, the answer was a resounding yes! And it’s thanks to the amazing people who work here at The Embankment and in our other lovely pubs who voted for us in the awards and made us winners! We now have a very shiny Best Employers in Hospitality Awards 2015 – Winner of Pubs & Bars trophy proudly on show!
One of the reasons we won is certainly all the great training we give our teams, who get dedicated programmes to help them become brilliant at their jobs and achieve ambitions of their own. We want them to succeed and be our partners of the future.
Someone who has just done that is our very own manager Ben Paul here in The Embankment, who became a Peach partner last month. Ben joined us six years ago as deputy manager of our sister pub The Black Horse in Woburn, and was promoted to running it within six months of arriving there. After five great years, when the pub went from strength to strength and picked awards including being named best pub two years running in the Milton Keynes Food & Leisure Awards, Ben took on The Embankment earlier this year.
He says he’s had six fantastic years working at Peach, first in Woburn and now here in Bedford and is really loving it. He puts his success down to hard work and having it recognised by the great training and development opportunities he gets which he now shares with others he trains in the company. Surprised and delighted to be made a partner, he can’t wait to open more great pubs for us as we grow.
