SUMMER VIBES – OUR NEW SUMMER MENU

The weather may be on the up; however summer has well and truly set in at The Embankment. This week saw the launch of our new Summer Menu, and Head Chef Sam has once again come up trumps with some fantastic seasonal dishes to get the taste buds tingling. Here is an insight into some of our favourites:

Starters

Pressed Terrine of Blythburgh Ham, Crisp Quails Egg & Pineapple Salsa £6.75 – A brilliantly succulent dish, with a delicate perfectly cooked Quails Egg, accompanied with Sourdough Toast. The mix of Tarragon with the Pineapple Salsa gives a perfect blend of sweet and savoury.

Salad of Feta, Broad Beans & Courgette, Mint & Lemon Dressing £6.50 – With ‘Courgetti’ being the latest trend, this dish is summer summed up. Incredibly fresh and clean, a lovely light treat!

Grilled Cornish Mackerel, Citrus, Oyster Leaf, Pink Grapefruit Dressing £7.25 – Believe it or not, this salad leaf does in fact taste like Oysters! The Citrus additions to this dish cut through the natural oils of the Mackerel, a perfect combination!

Either Or

Crispy Beef Scrumpets, Runner Beans, Radish, Shallots & Salsa Verde £7.75/£14.50 – What is a Scrumpet I hear you ask!? These beautifully tender morsels are in fact the Beef finger ribs, which are then braised and deep fried. Rich in flavour, they are accompanied by a bean and leaf Salsa Verde and delicate Crispy Shallots.

Mains

Monkfish, Ibérico Ham, Herb Spelt, Peas & Fennel £18.50 – This meaty loin is deceptively filling and not too ‘fishey’. The addition of Bronze Fennel gives this dish a distinct flavour.

Cornish Lamb Cutlets, Grilled Baby Gem, Large Grain Couscous, Pomegranate & Harissa Yoghurt £19.50 – Simply stunning – both visually and flavour wise. These fabulous cutlets really lend themselves to the Middle Eastern flavours of the Harissa and Couscous. The Pomegranate adds a delightful crunch and another dimension to the dish.

Pan-fried Sea Bream, Heritage Potatoes, Cockles & Seashore Vegetables £16.50 – One for the seafood fans, this dish has an element of surprise in the purple colouring from the Heritage Potatoes. A traditional dish, with a modern twist.

Desserts

Summer Pudding, Vanilla Cream, Pimms Jelly £4.75 – The Pimms Jelly makes this quintessentially British favourite even more summery. Packed with juicy summer Berries, we can just say it’s good for you!

Buttermilk Panna Cotta, Raspberry Sauce, Mini doughnuts £4.75 – A treat for both the eyes and the stomach! This beautiful dish has everything you could wish for and more. The buttermilk is incredibly soft and creamy, and the Doughnuts add another texture to the mix. Fantastic!
